Peter Wolfkamp Resident Builder

I started my building career in 1987, and not long after began my radio career with Newstalk ZB.

These two different vocations have run alongside each other, jumping the tracks from one to the other over the years, and resulting in a career that now combines extensive experience in the building sector with a proven track record in broadcasting.

After many years working with Newstalk ZB, we are now delighted to have our own Resident Builder show on Sunday mornings from 6am to 9am.
We discuss everything to do with building, renovating and home ownership during this show, as well as taking your calls on your DIY projects.

Who is the Resident Builder, Peter Wolfkamp;

My portfolio of carpentry work is diverse, including classic villa’s in Auckland, contemporary buildings, townhouses, rustic country estates, and historic restoration projects. I gained valuable experience during a short sabbatical in the South of France where I worked on a 16th century farmhouse restoration project.

My professional development has continued with the NZGBC Homestar Home Coach and Practitioner training, and I am a Licensed Building Practitioner under the scheme established by DBH.

Alongside this hands-on and, at times, finger-bruising vocation, my radio work has included hosting overnight talkback at Newstalk ZB, regular slots with Danny Watson since 2002, and currently presenting as an expert guest on Kerre Woodham and Mark Dwyer Afternoons. I am a regular guest on Newstalk ZB lifestyle shows during holiday programming.

The skills crafted in radio have opened opportunities for voice-over work and voicing radio advertisements.

My media work has now expanded into television. I am the Site Foreman for the Block NZ, with responsibility for the teams and their tradies and all compliance issues.
