Every effort we make, no matter how small, to move to a more sustainable future is worthwhile, in my opinion.
While we often think about water tanks as being great big 25 or 30,000L tanks sitting in a paddock, the reality is that more and more tanks are being used in urban environments, and I think this is a great initiative.
Recently, I installed a Bailey Baby Slim Jim water tank with a capacity of 600L. It’s a relatively compact tank that stands just 1.0m high, 0.55m deep, and 1.40m long. Its compact size means that you can find a place for it almost anywhere: beside a path, under the eaves alongside a building, often near the downpipe you need to connect to.
Another clever feature of this tank is that it comes complete with a downpipe diverter that allows for a simple and quick connection from the downpipe to the tank. The pipe that delivers water into the tank from the downpipe is also the overflow. It’s a really clever piece of kit, and I reckon the installation took me maybe an hour and was pretty straightforward.
The addition of the 600L option to the Bailey Slim Jim range of water tanks allows us all to use natural resources and work towards a more sustainable future.
